I love donuts.  If you didn’t know, now you know.

So, a few weekends ago I took my 10-year-old nephew with me to McDonald’s so we could try the sweet treats.

We ordered a mix so we could sample as many as possible. We got Boston Cream, Crème Brulee, a powdered strawberry jelly donut, a pink sprinkled donut, and the apple fritter.

What can I say…..the donuts were nowhere as good as the images online.

This is what they actually looked like.

I would normally review them individually, but honestly, my nephew and I agreed that they all had the same issue.

The donuts were unbelievably stale, dry and lacked taste. I could not differentiate any of the donuts apart. Yes, I know you’re thinking, “You’re at Mcdonald’s, what do you expect?!”,  but I read some reviews online and everyone seemed to like the donuts.

The biggest offender was the crème brulee donut (true, I had no right ordering it) I’m sure McDonald’s is banking on the fact that people that have never eaten crème brulee before to try it. I’ll save you the heartache, don’t order it!

The “best” donut of the bunch was the apple fritter. Keep in mind, it did not contain a single apple, but the glaze wasn’t that bad.

The verdict, would I order this again?

That’s a hard no.

Bonus! Who would win: Timbiebs vs. McDonald’s donuts

Timbiebs all the way!

Have you tried the donuts from McDonald’s? Leave me a comment and let me know what you thought!
