Being a foodie, I am always asked what my favourite things are to eat or drink. I plan on starting a series sharing with you a few of my “must have” items. So check back often!

My must have:

Prosecco

I do realize that the holidays are over and I am fully aware that you might not be planning on sipping on prosecco, or champagne for that matter any time soon. But I was prompted to write this post because I poured endless glasses of my favourite prosecco for my guests over the holidays, and they enjoyed it.

Truth be told, I don’t really need a holiday to appreciate this bevvy – it is my favourite thing to drink. I love champagne, and prosecco has a very similar flavour profile (Champagne is a sparkling wine made in the Champagne region in France and prosecco is a sparkling wine made in Italy. My must have prosecco is… Mionetto.

I love that it is dry, crisp, bubbly, and not sweet (not a fan of sweet wines or liqueurs). It doesn’t go flat quickly, so you if you open a bottle and you’re unable to finish it, it will stay bubbly the next day.

I found out about this prosecco a few years ago after I was on the hunt to find the perfect prosecco. I thought to try Mionetto after I saw that someone I followed on Instagram mentioned it. She lives in Italy and wrote about why it was one of her faves.

I located it at the LCBO a few years ago, and since then, I always stock up when it’s on sale.

I pair it with just about any meal (*it’s great for mimosas), or I savour a glass (or two!) when I’m snacking on chips.  You really can’t go wrong with this drink.  It is a crowd pleaser.

So when you plan on entertaining guests, or if you want a nice, light drink with dinner, pour yourself a glass of Mionetto. And if you’re feeling fancy, pour it in a bougie champagne glass!

* please drink responsibly

*Please note that I am not paid by Mionetto – I just love this prosecco!
